Carbon nanotubes and cell attachment

SLU researchers and IDBI members Silviya Zustiak and David Griggs have teamed up to study the properties of carbon nanotubes that are capable of mediating cell attachment and spreading. They found that integrin proteins play an essential role in facilitating cell interactions with adsorbed serum and cell-secreted adhesive proteins on the nanotubes.
